It all started in 1999...

I took a black and white photography course at the local community college. This class taught us from scratch how to make a photo from A-Z on film. It started with the mechanics of the camera, moved onto the film, then the darkroom, and finally the print. From this point on, I was hooked. My photographic life has taken on many different chapters and I am sure it will continue to do so in the future. After learning the basics, I started photographing bands and the music scene in Rockford, IL. I have been in bands since 7th grade, so I naturally gravitated towards this. Around this period, I was heavily influence by a genre called, Lomography.

Chapter 1. Lomography From Wikki - "Lomography relates to Lomographic photographers who advocate creative and experimental film photography. " Lomography was the training ground for developing a unique personal style. I have earned more than a dozen international Lomography awards including a trip to Valencia, Spain.

Chapter 2. Music Tour Photography From 2000-2009 I played drums for a band called “The Heavils”. In 2001 we signed with Metalblade records and started doing concerts supported by Jägermeister music. This eventually landed our guitar player a job driving one of the tour buses and myself riding along for several of the tours documenting the adventures. This included full tours across the United States with Ozzfest, Stone Sour, The Last Vegas, and Motley Crue.

Chapter 3. My wedding experience goes well over a decade. I started to dabble in the wedding photography business in 2004 with a wedding factory. We were doing traditional wedding photography on 35mm film. Eventually this thing called Myspace happened around the same time  and a good friend asked me to photograph his wedding. My business grew naturally the next few years through referrals. I have been a full-time wedding photographer running my own brand since 2011. I enjoy being part of the mix during the wedding day, focusing on natural moments. My ultimate goal with weddings is to create a timeless, documentation of the day that serves as a family heirloom for generations. Please take a moment to browse my wedding portfolio and featured weddings. If you like what you see, I would love to talk to you about your wedding day! Chapter 4.  In addition to portraits and weddings I am now pursuing Architectural, Interior Design, and Real Estate photography.  Please contact me for details.
